Antique Cast Iron Balance Scale with Decorative Scoop Nesting Weights Working
This is a marvelous piece, you can feel the craftsmanship. The decorative detailing not only on the scoop but on the base really makes this scale stand out. It has hand painted grapes and leaves that pop next to the stark black. The basket measures 12" wide and about 7 1/2" long. The base measures about 13" wide and 6" at the longest point.
The scoop does have a few slight dents. There is some paint that is missing and some rust.
Otherwise there is no real damage that I can see and it seems to be in working order. This scale will include a set of nesting weights. There are no hallmarks that I could see.
