Antique Fairbanks Cast Iron Painted Red Country Store /General Store Counter Scoop Balance Platform Scale. Antique Fairbanks turn of the century cast iron merchant counter platform scale. The scale has been painted at some point over what appears to be oxidized cast iron giving it rather stippled textured rough look finish confirming its many years exposed to the elements. This is a great looking piece with a flare to its design making it a great focal piece in many decorating areas.

The scale approximate measurements are 12 ½" across the base and 21" across the top at the brass numbered scale and the height to the very top of the scale 26. Three weights marked 50LB are included however there is a open space where the weights hang and I would assume there would have been another one there which is missing. The scale is heavy with a weight of approximately 45LB and packing will increase it's weight.
