Antique Primitive Cast Iron Countertop BALANCE SCALE, Orig. Antique primitive cast iron countertop mercantile or general store balance scale measuring about 10-3/4" long and 7-1/4" tall to the decorative finial top. Featuring the correct brass bowls, scale bears wonderful chippy original green paint - I cannot find any markings on the scale, but believe it is French - one brass bowl has a tiny stamp that is difficult to read and impossible to photograph - may be 2K - there is also a maker's mark in the brass bowl center, also illegible, but photographed as shown.

Balanced and working perfectly, pan arms can be adjusted - pan bowls simply lift off. Condition is wonderful with no breaks or damage - it is shabby, worn, well used, and bears the chippiest paint - pans have denting and wear as well - all in all, a wonderful antique scale - has the look and would be a neat addition to any counter or kitchen display!
