Vintage Howe Scales with cast iron columns and marble base

  

Howe weighted scales with cast iron columns and marble base. If all these pieces originally went together but this is how I found it. Is wood, the scale beam is brass, the columns are cast iron and the base appears. The base dimensions are 47 x 20 1/2 x 5.

Have been told by some that it was used for weighing big pieces of meat. It displays well and would make a great window or island display. However contact me prior to.
